As of June 1, 2009, there are two different distribution schemes used in the registration of musical works in EAÜ.
1. Automatic key
- Is a distribution key automatically applied by EAÜ according to the authors' roles in the work.

2. Agreed distribution
- Distribution key that the rightholders have mutually agreed upon, considering each authors' (including publisher's) contribution and other circumstances. However, the publisher's percentage may not exceed what is specified in the automatic key.
- When registering, a contribution percentage (%) of the work in question must be marked next to the role of each author.
- The percentages of all the work's authors have to equal 100%.
